Time Dynamo is the concept of web and mobile application, the goal is to create the best-in-class work-force attendance and leave management system which eases attendance recording & tracking, employees shift scheduling, Holiday/weekly off work hours calculation, overtime allocation challenges to be met, must efficiently & accurately help manage cost vs production timeline.
In addition to attendance punch time dynamo also has an option to monitor the person's location while doing shift in, lunch out, break in, break out punches. For new employees HR team will do create employee details & leave policy in the application, there was a need that the data to be integrated & leave policy to be updated automatically in employee Master of Time dynamo Software Application.
Industry employees will shift in & shift out as per their shift schedule. At times, to meet short production deadlines team may need to do overtime & for them this need to be calculated not just by tracking last shift out & subtracting the first shift in time. To handle this scenario, to develop a standard break hour between the shift end and the Overtime start in OT module. To avoid the wastage of time, for leave approval/absence management.
So we designed the new module for Geo Mapping Attendance in the web application and placed as a separate menu. Now, sales team persons can access Time Dynamo Attendance monitoring web application in their smart phones and do appropriate attendance punch. During every punch, the latitude and longitude values of the employee’s current location will be collected and updated in the web application. The admin / approval authority users having rights to access the module can view wherein their sales team member have done the shift in and all.
User research focuses on understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies. For me user research is “the process of understanding the impact of design on an audience”.
With common scenario’s in place, we were able to define detailed personas,
using their vast data pool.
To comply with my non-disclosure agreement, I obfuscated the personas in this case study.
With the proper planning, we were able to confidently move into creating wireframes for the app. We took the decision to focus more on the functionality and structure of the app, opting for low-fidelity wireframes with very little detail. Ultimately, we could add design elements in later, what was important for our users, was that the product (above all) was clear and simple.
In the results we created a mobile, tablet and web application that is able to perform the business tasks. UI testing gave us an idea of how to properly organize the structure of the application, providing the most positive user experience for Timedynamo's users.
Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it’s this veneer – that the designers are handed this box and told “make it look good”. That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. Steve Jobs, US computer engineer & industrialist.
